How To Maintain Your Lead-Acid Battery?
In most cases, batteries stop working due to the battery sulfation. This is the formation of lead sulphate crystals on their surface. To prevent this from happening, Zing Batteries have prepared a few tips for you!
Charge It Well
Choosing the right battery charger is highly important. You need to make sure that your battery isn’t undercharged or overcharged, otherwise, it may significantly reduce its lifespan.
To avoid this, make a habit of completely recharging your battery after every use. We do not recommend storing batteries which are only half-charged as this can lead to sulfation.
Unfortunately, overcharging a battery is the same bad news as it causes corrosion, increased water consumption and temperature damage.
We would recommend using our Fully Automatic Digital Battery Charger Maintainer to charge your batteries as it ensures it is never left on charge for longer than needed. This will prevent any damage and have a positive impact on the lifespan of your battery.
Keep At Recommended Temperatures
It is important to follow the temperature guidelines set by the manufacturer. If you are unsure what these are for your battery, we will be more than happy to assist you with finding this information.
At Zing Batteries we have a wide range of high-quality AGM, Gel, and lead-acid batteries for long-time use.
If you live in a warm environment, you need to make sure that your battery water level is always high enough to keep your battery safe.
Water It Right
The right amount of fluid plays an important role as well. Your lead-acid battery will serve you for longer if you follow these easy recommendations:
· Replenish water every time after charging
· Use distilled water
· Refrain from overcharging
· Check water levels frequently
· Don’t add more water if its level is around ½ inch above the top of the plates or just below the bottom of the vent
